A set of precision screwdrivers, including a Pentalobe screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver.

  • A prying tool, such as a spudger or a plastic opening tool. These tools help pry open the back panel without damaging the phone’s frame.
  • An anti-static wrist strap (optional but recommended). This helps prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) that can damage sensitive electronic components.
  • A clean, well-lit workspace.

  • Power Down and Remove the SIM Card Tray (H3)

For safety reasons, always power down your Realme 2 Pro completely before attempting any disassembly. Locate the power button and hold it down until the power menu appears. Tap on “Power off” and confirm to shut down the phone.

Once powered down, remove the SIM card tray. This is usually located on the left side of the phone. Use the ejector pin that came with your phone or a straightened paperclip to gently push into the small hole beside the tray. The tray will pop out, allowing you to remove it.

    Heating the Back Panel (H3)

The Realme 2 Pro’s back panel uses adhesive to secure it to the frame. Applying heat helps soften the adhesive, making it easier to pry open the panel without damaging it. There are two main methods for heating the back panel:

Heat Gun: A heat gun is the most efficient and controlled method. Set the heat gun to a low setting (around 100°C or 212°F) and blow hot air evenly across the back panel for about 30-40 seconds. Be careful not to overheat the panel, as this can damage internal components.

  • Hair Dryer: If you don’t have a heat gun, a hair dryer on a low heat setting can be used as an alternative. However, it’s less precise and may take longer to heat the panel evenly.

  • Prying Open the Back Panel (H3)

Once the back panel is sufficiently heated, it’s time to start prying it open. Here’s where your prying tool comes in. Insert the tip of the spudger or plastic opening tool between the back panel and the frame. Be very gentle and avoid using excessive force, as this can crack the glass back panel.

Start at the bottom of the phone and slowly pry the back panel upwards, working your way around the sides. You may hear some clicking noises as the adhesive breaks. It’s important to be patient and take your time throughout this process.
